Athanasios Tsakalos

Athanasios Tsakalos is an EU Projects Manager, specializing in coordinating and managing EU-funded programs and applied research projects. He also serves as the Account Manager for SEKPY (Hellenic Manufacturers of Defence Materiel Association), focusing on communication strategies and member engagement. Additionally, he is active in the Defence Marketing domain, leading editorial efforts, content management, and marketing activities.

With a strong academic foundation, Athanasios Tsakalos holds a degree in International, European, and Area Studies from Panteion University, where he studied International Relations and International Law, gaining a comprehensive understanding of security issues and state policies. He further pursued an MA in Global Risks and Systems of Analysis at the University of Peloponnese, specializing in Risk Management and Analytics in International Politics. To deepen his expertise, he attended the joint program “MA in Arms Control and International Security” at King’s College London, where he focused on the fundamentals, history, and practical challenges of Arms Control.

His international exposure includes Erasmus exchange programs at Sehir Istanbul University and an internship at the “Centro de Estudios Neogriegos, Bizantinos y Chipriotas” in Spain.

These experiences enriched his practical skills, broadened his perspective on global issues, and reinforced his ability to navigate multicultural environments.

Athanasios Tsakalos is an active participant in seminars, conferences, and specialized training, consistently enhancing his expertise in EU defence-related policies, risk management, and international security. As an Arms Control practitioner and accomplished researcher, he aims to contribute to the advancement of EU defence strategies while expanding his professional acumen.
